]]> This Mandela Day, we’re calling on companies, teams, and community members to help us support families in need. We’re launching a food drive for 151 households identified in our programs — of which 64 families do not have a reliable source of income and face daily food insecurity.

Through this Household Food Drive, we aim to collect non-perishable items and make emergency food parcels available from our offices whenever families face hunger and hardship. 

What to bring:

Tinned food & vegetables
 Soup mixes
 Samp, rice & pasta
 Lentils & beans
 Flour, salt & yeast
 Soy mince
 Jam &  peanut butter

Where to deliver: 

All donations can be dropped off at our office in Wellington on Madiba Day — 18 July 2025.
You’re also welcome to deliver your donations before or after the day — every contribution helps!

Together, let’s turn 67 minutes into lasting change for families who need it most.

Join us in making a lifelong impact by supporting one or more of the vulnerable, alternatively enabled individuals (intellectually or physically disabled). Your financial contribution to a friend ensures a place of safety where members can come together to feel loved, learn new skills and build healthy relationships. Members come together 3 times a week. Here they receive breakfast, Bible study sessions, sessions in life skills, physical exercises, fine motor and gross motor skills, various craft and art sessions.

For only R500 ($26,79) a month, you can partially support and provide a member with:

- Program Materials and Equipment

- Trained and Equipped Program coordinators

- Safe environment to develop and thrive

- Breakfast and lunch

- Access to social worker and fieldworkers who invest and stands alongside them and their families for social support

- Access to primary medical care and first aid                                                             

- Supporting them in their physical and social needs

- To care and pray for them and be part of a community that supports their wellbeing

Examples: 

Non- Perisable goods: Tin food, soups mixes, lentils, rice pasta, flour, salt, yeast, soy mince , jam and peanut butter.

Fresh produce: Potatoes, onions, carrots, tomatoes, cucumber, butternut, seasonal fruit.

Meat and dairy: Fresh / frozen chicken, mince, stewing beef, boerewors, peloni/cold meats, Vianna's, cheese, cheese wedges, small yogurt tubs and butter/ margarine.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES:

  • To involve women from the local community and the children's environment, giving them the skills and knowledge they need to actively support and care for the beneficiaries in our programs. 
  • To run a 3-month training program that gives these women the skills and knowledge they need to care for, guide, and support children, while also teaching positive values that match our mission. 
  • To help women make thoughtful and caring decisions as they take on roles as caregivers and mentors, ensuring the children’s well-being. 
  • To create a strong sense of community among the women, building lasting connections and a space where they can share their experiences and grow together. 
  • To provide the women with practical tools and emotional support, helping them serve well in the children’s program while also growing personally.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES:

  • Creating a safe space for intellectually disabled persons in the Wellington-area where they are accepted and feel safe to develop healthy relationships with God, peers and other adults. 
  • A daycare Centre that provides meals and supervision to members. 
  • Safe transport to the Centre, and back to their homes. 
  • Mentoring 20 members in biblical values to build their character. 
  • Creativity sessions where members can have fun and develop their creative skills. 
  • Supporting parents in their challenge to care for their disabled adults by connecting them with other organisations.  
  • Social services and interventions to assist families with any social or other issues. 
  • Professional sessions to assist members with any mobility difficulties, medical needs, and aid need.
