Children’s Ministry begins the year on a colourful note.

We welcome 58 new friends to our Children’s Ministry! We see new faces, big smiles, and endless joy on each face that already feels at home in the program. Everyone participates in activities where they, among other things, make their own little bodies out of clay and are reminded of the unique and special way each of them was created by God.

PSALMS 139:13-14: “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”

AVODAH:                  

Cracking Open a World of Possibilities

We’re starting a wonderful journey with our Avodah members, teaching them the basics of cooking, beginning with eggs. Our goal extends beyond the kitchen; we hope to foster independence and pride in every individual’s life. By mastering these cooking skills, they’ll be able to cook meals for themselves, empowering them in their daily lives. The joy and laughter in the kitchen made it a memorable experience. And yes, we got to enjoy the delicious results together!

ECD:

 Meet our new GR. RR Vice Principal.

My passion for kids started at home, where my mother had her own preschool. Growing up, I always knew I wanted to become a teacher. My love for kids was evident from the beginning. As soon as I matriculated, I knew I wanted to work with children. During my gap year, I started helping my mother at The Juweeltjies pre-school class, which was an ECD center at Ma’s vir Wellington. I volunteered for 2 years with no salary, and I am currently in my 8th year at Mas vir Wellington. My heart is always dedicated to helping children in need, and with prayers to the Lord, I questioned if this was truly what I wanted. With the guidance and support of the Lord, I found clarity in my purpose. I am grateful to have been appointed as the Vice Principal of the ECD Centre at Ma’s vir Wellington. Each day, I am thankful for the blessings and opportunities that come my way.

Grateful for the journey with Ma’s vir Wellington

Nicolene is a devoted volunteer across three of our programs and a proud mom of a former ECD student. She inspired new parents in our Children’s Ministry program with her heartfelt testimony. Nicolene shared how Ma’s vir Wellington has enriched her understanding of God, deepened her connection with His Word, and strengthened her relationship with Him. Her genuine joy and sense of belonging speak volumes about the impact of our mission: spreading the good news of God so that everyone can know Him better.

Values for Little Ones & Toddlers

We are grateful for the interest in our organisation and visit of Dr. Thys Smith from Kinderland Academy. Thanks to a sponsorship, we have been provided with 50 “Values for Little Ones & Toddlers” books to develop character principles in our programs. It is important for children to learn essential values such as love, caring, respect, and honesty. We are excited to involve our parents in this journey and empower them to reinforce these values at home.

PARENTING PROGRAM:

Hope for Parents

Currently, we have 12 women attending the Hope for Parents program on Monday mornings. Each has received a Bible as a gift while they are working through the book of Genesis. The main focus of the month was to realize once again that each one is created in the image of God.

Romans 10:17: “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.”

VISITORS: 

One in the Spirit

We had special friends from Hopewell Church in Pennsylvania who visited our programs and reached out to our Avodah group to share a hand of friendship and hope from America. Karyn Ross, representing the New Life Rockstars, shared God’s story of unity in Christ during her visit to our Avodah group. Both groups, focused on physically and intellectually disabled individuals, pray for one another on a weekly basis. Despite the physical distance between us, we are unified as ONE in Jesus Christ and ONE in Spirit, all children of God together.

TESTOMONIES:

#The ECD (Early Childhood Development) children have adapted well to their routines, and a general calmness and order prevail among the group. We see positive changes in children who previously cried, others who didn’t want to cooperate, or children who didn’t want to engage in group discussions. We experience a general sense of joy among the children.

#The Children’s Ministry children have already adapted quickly, even though they are only 3-4 years old. and attending such a group for the first time. *MJ had been crying continuously and didn’t want to be without his grandmother. He has now adapted well and is participating cheerfully taking part in activities on his own and in the group.

#Our Avodah members benefit so much from the extra day added to their program. They are so happy and have adapted well to the new building where our program is held. The three new members have adapted quickly and made new friends in the group.

#*G has learned a new skill of sewing with the sewing machine. Her skills develop every day as she enjoys the small products she is currently making as practice.

#*J got the opportunity to receive training every Thursday at a local wood factory that makes kitchen cabinets. We pray that he will adapt well and later, be able to work on a more permanent basis at the wood factory.

Paarl Post het vandeesweek besoek afgelê by ons kinderbediening in Blignautstraat, New Rest. Hulle het die kinders groot bederf met nuwe speelgoed asook lekker eet en drink goedjies. Nie net dit nie, maar hulle het hul tyd saam met die kinders spandeer om te speel, teken en in te kleur.
Hierdie skenking deur Paarl Post is moontlik gemaak te danke aan die jaarlikse skenkings vanaf die publiek aan die Paarl Post-Kersfonds.
