LOVED UNCONDITIONALLY!
In this group, she can talk to all her friends and have meaningful conversations with the volunteers and personnel. She loves to do all the different activities and crafts with her friends sitting next to her. These activities stimulate her physical and mental health. It is also important for her to share and enjoy similar interests as to her own.
Ann is one of our Avodah members, living in the informal settlements of our community. She truly inspires us as a lady with courage. She has 2 elderly parents, living together in a small shack without running water, electricity, or toilet facilities. For these necessities, they must make use of another nearby house. Anne and her family live solely off her disability grant, as well as the pension grant, they receive from the Government. Even in the financially difficult times that are we currently living in, they must make do with the little money they receive which is less than what it takes to cover their basic needs.
Ann testifies of her true friendships made during these weekly gatherings. Previously she was very lonely at home, without friends or people to relate and talk to. In this group, she can talk to all her friends and have meaningful conversations with the volunteers and personnel. She loves to do all the different activities and crafts with her friends sitting next to her. These activities stimulate her physical and mental health. It is also important for her to share and enjoy similar interests to her own.
Two years ago, Ann’s family home was destroyed in a devastating fire. All their earthly belongings were destroyed. Thanks to the kindness of our community, Ma’s vir Wellington could support her with much-needed furniture, clothes, and food parcels. During intercession, she asked the Lord to provide a new Bible for their home, as it was destroyed in the fire. Miraculously He provided one the very same day, encouraging her to ask whatever she needed through prayer.
Ann loves to participate in the bible study Hope4Kids program. She loves to worship, answer questions, and pray out loud in the group. When Ann laughs, it is with total JOY and when she participates, it is with full concentration. She eagerly prays and trusts the lord for her friends’ requests as well. She is a real faith warrior and an example to us all.
She is currently 48 years old and begin to struggle with her body’s health and fitness levels. We praise the Lord for the wheelchair He provided to help her as she is not able to walk very far anymore. It is such a blessing to see how her other disabled friends would help and support her to sit in the wheelchair and take her wherever she goes.
At Avodah, He also provides for Ann’s physical needs such as daily breakfast and lunch. She sometimes receives a monthly food hamper to take home, new winter clothing through the program’s Winter Project, and a special birthday gift to make her feel very special on her birthday. Last winter, we could also provide a canvas to cover their house’s leaking roof, keeping them dry during the rainy season.
We praise the Lord for her friends, people to pray with her, people who care about her dearly, for times to laugh together with friends, and people who see her as the loving person she is. She is very much loved and part of our Avodah family. She is LOVED UNCONDITIONALLY!
