Palm Sunday
We portrayed the moment Jesus entered Jerusalem, riding humbly on a donkey just as the prophets foretold. The crowd welcomed Him with joy, waving palm branches and laying their clothes on the road, honouring Him as their King. Shouts of “Hosanna!” filled the air as we celebrated the arrival of the Messiah.
Reflecting on the Cross
As part of our Passion Play, we held a meaningful activity where the children reflected on what Jesus has done for us on the cross. With soft music playing in the background, they gently placed beans to fill in the shape of the cross, each one a quiet reminder of His love and sacrifice.
The Last Supper
On the night before His crucifixion, Jesus shared a final meal with His disciples. During this sacred moment, He took bread, gave thanks, broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body, given for you.” He then took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, poured out for you.” Through this act, Jesus gave His followers a powerful way to remember His sacrifice and the promise of salvation.
Jesus praying in the garden of Gethsemane
Jesus went to the Garden of Gethsemane to pray, deeply troubled and sorrowful. He cried out to His Father, asking if the cup of suffering could pass from Him, yet surrendered fully, saying, “Not my will, but Yours be done.”
Jesus taken capture
Later that night, soldiers arrived in the Garden of Gethsemane, where they captured Jesus after He was betrayed by Judas.
Jesus crowned with thorns
The soldiers mocked Jesus by placing a crown of thorns on His head and dressing Him in a purple robe
Jesus Carries His Cross
After being sentenced to death, Jesus was forced to carry His cross through the streets of Jerusalem to the place called Golgotha. Weakened by suffering, He stumbled under its weight, yet He pressed on, bearing the burden of our sin with every step.
The Open grave
After Jesus was laid to rest in a tomb, a great stone was rolled in front to seal it. On the third day, however, the stone was miraculously rolled away, and the tomb was found empty. This moment marked the glorious victory of Jesus over death, offering the promise of eternal life to all who believe.
The Great Commission
Jesus commanded us to “Go into all the world and share the good news Jesus to every nation.” We proclaim with joy that the grave is empty, for He has risen, offering salvation and hope to all who believe in Him. This message of victory over death continues to spread, as we are called to make disciples of all nations.
Sharing the Story of the Cross
In our Children’s Ministry, Salomé shared the powerful story of Jesus with the children, gently explaining how He died on the cross for our sins. With love and care, she helped them understand the depth of His sacrifice and the hope we have because of His resurrection. The children listened with open hearts as they learned about the greatest act of love ever shown.
Sweet Reminders of the Cross
Tania explained to the children how they could use the sweets as a fun and simple way to share the message of the cross with others. Each sweet served as a reminder of Jesus’ love and sacrifice, giving the children a creative tool to tell their friends and family about what He has done for us.
Sent Out to Be Disciples
After learning about Jesus’ love and sacrifice, the children each received a packet of sweets as a symbol of the Good News they were now ready to share. With joyful hearts, they were sent out to be young disciples, carrying the message of the cross to their families, friends, and communities.
